I'm Ismail, the founder. For years I've been selling on eBay, Etsy, and Amazon as a multi-channel e-commerce seller. Like every seller managing more than one platform, I tried to track everything in spreadsheets: orders, fees, shipping costs, COGS, returns. It worked, until it didn't. The fees were never quite right. Bulk shipping labels threw off my numbers. Bundles broke my inventory math. I was making sales but had no idea what I was actually making.
When I shared the frustration with other sellers I knew, the same response kept coming back: “You have a software and data background — why don't you build something that can help all of us?” They were right. With my experience as a data scientist and software developer, this was a problem I could actually solve — for myself, for the sellers who'd asked, and for anyone on the internet who wants to know their real numbers.
So I built Stock Owl. Now my own business runs on it, and I'm making it available to every seller facing the same problem.
Most inventory and profit tools are built by software developers who've never sold a product.
